Marica schools
provide a large variety of activities for the children
to be involved in. Children have always actively participated
in contests like quizzes, calligraphy, painting, essays
writing at various levels.

It was
a challenge for the teachers and the volunteers
to help the students enact in English, the Rainavana.
Every child took part in narrating, acting,
dancing and singing. It is impossible to describe
the excitement 'backstage'. The children loved
dressing up and revelled in their chances to
perform.

Apart
from the competitions. MARICA involves the children
in the creation of cards and story album, correspondence
with pen pals in different countries of the world,
projects to support children suffering with an impairment,
environment awareness, first aid training and better
understanding of cultures and traditions. Here is
a list of the recent activities that MARICA's children
have actively been involved in.
Regular painting contest
Nutrition awareness programme to spread the consumption
of spirulina

christmas celebrations - plays and singing
Playing games to buy a dustbin collection cycle rickshaw
Donate the cycle rickshaw to a very poor person and
create a self employment
Decoration and animation of the children room in a
AIDS hospital
Donation of music and colouring kits and Correspondence
with children suffering from AIDS.
Creations of sandwich jobs for very poor deserving
students to allow work at Marica before and after
school time
Regular medical camps in the quarries, mainly
